Brick Brewing says the sale of its Waterloo property is now complete.
The announcement this morning will see Brick continue to lease the building from the new owner, HIP Developments, for the short term.
Brick has also announced it plans to expand its operations on Bingemans Centre Drive in Kitchener.
It will spend $9-million on establishing full brewing capability in Kitchener.
It says, when the project is complete, by the end of October 2015, the Kitchener location will be a fully integrated brewing, packaging and distribution facility.
Chief Operating Officer of Brick Brewing, Russell Tabata, says “The equipment we will install in Kitchener is absolutely leading edge, the latest and best brewing technology available in the world.”
Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ian MacLean hails the announcement as “Great news,” adding it’s “a real indication of the strong business climate here in Kitchener Waterloo. Brick is an outstanding business not just in Kitchener Waterloo but throughout Ontario. To see a brewer like Brick making this investment, growing and adding jobs is wonderful.”
