During the show last week, The City of Kitchener’s intensification plans for the downtown appear to be working. The planning department has released new figures showing between June of 2013 and June of this year, about 1,300 more jobs moved into the core. The Record reports, the growth has a lot to down with the thriving tech sector. The city says more people are also calling downtown Kitchener home. It estimates there are now 167 people and jobs per hectare in the downtown, as compared to 155 a year earlier.

The Duchess of Cambridge — Prince William’s wife, Kate — is expecting her second child. A statement released this morning says Kate is being treated at Kensington Palace for morning sickness. The same thing happened during her first pregnancy with Prince George, who was born almost 14 months ago. The baby will be the fourth in line to the throne behind Princes Charles, William and George — in that order.
