Brick Brewing’s Waterloo property sells for $4 million

Brick Brewing has sold its Uptown Waterloo location, with plans to grow its business in Kitchener.
HIP Developments purchased the King Street location for $4 million, planning to redevelop.
George Croft, CEO and President of Brick Brewing, says customers shouldn’t be concerned about a beer shortage.
“Brewing operations will not be disrupted in any way,” Croft says. “We plan on installing the new brewing equipment in Kitchener while Waterloo is still in operation. During the transitional period, in fact, we’ll have production both at Waterloo and Kitchener.”
Croft adds that Brick is permanently moving all of its operations to Kitchener within the next two years. The company will also lease the property until all of its operations have moved to Kitchener.
Brick was the first craft brewery to start up in Ontario, founded 30 years ago.
