1:00- Sam Grosso, co-owner of The El Mocambo and owner of Cadillac Lounge in Toronto
Grosso, co-owner of The El Mocambo and owner of Cadillac Lounge in Toronto, is challenging Mayor Rob Ford to a charity boxing match. Grosso said he wants to give Ford a “beating” in a boxing ring set up in the El Mocambo to raise funds for a juvenile diabetes charity. Before he took a leave of absence, Ford was captured on an audio tape in a west-end bar swearing, making homophobic and using racial slurs to refer to Italians. Grosso has tried to reach out to Ford with the 3 p.m. June 8 boxing match offer but has yet to hear back.
