One positive side effect of the long winter this year – allergy season has been slow to arrive.
Dr. Joel Doctor tells 570 news it has not really started yet. Trees are just starting to bug and the grass is not even green yet.
“The intensity this season will largely be dictated by what happens between now and June and July. If it really does warm up and becomes hotter and dryer then the pollen will start to fly.”
With birch being the biggest cause of sniffing and sneezing, the tree pollen comes first. Grass pollen does not ramp up until right around stampede time in early July.
If you are looking for an easier treatment, Dr. Doctor says there is now a tablet you can dissolve under the tongue once a day for grass allergies. The catch is you need to start it four months before the season begins.
