Siskins win Cherrey Cup and end 20 year drought

The Waterloo Siskins have ended a 20-year-drought.

They beat the Stratford Cullitons 4-2 in the GOJHL Mid-Western Conference series, with a 5-4 last night to clinch the Cherrey Cup.

This is the first time the Siskins have won since 1994.

Christian Mroczkowski scored the tie-breaking, game-winning goal with just over 6 minutes left.

Winning goalie Leo Lazarev made 34 saves for the Siskins on 38 shots.
