Dragons Den Comes to Kitchener

For all you Dragon’s Den fans, auditions for the 9th season happened in Kitchener today. Lots of entrepreneurs from Waterloo Region lined up to pitch their ideas at the Tannery building downtown.

One of the contestants, Shaun Sutter says his audition went surprisingly well. “My product is a weight for boxers and people that do boxing for fitness. It goes on the wrist of any boxing glove and increases your endurance.” If Sutter receives a spot on the show, he plans to ask for 30 grand from the dragons and share 10 % of his profit.

Another candidate Irene Davaris was another contestant pitching her product called “Meal in a Jar.” “It’s a complete meal made in a mason jar, it started by accident out of my kitchen. Now we are in 10 retail stores all over KW and they are all wheat and gluten free.” Irene hopes to ask the Dragon’s for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and share 30 percent of her earnings.

All candidates will be notified in less than a week if they’ve made it to the next round to face the dragons.
