New temperature record

570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson says we set a new temperature record overnight as it hit -27 at the airport.

Environment Canada reported a low of -30 overnight, either way, the old record of -25.6 set in 1917 is no more. Wilson says we can thank the calm and clear conditions as well as the snow cover.

Wilson says our high should hit -7 later today.
