10:00am- Bill Curry, Parliamentary Reporter with the Globe and Mail, Re: It was back to reality for Prime Minister Harper yesterday. After a 45-day recess, members of Parliament returned to Ottawa for a new sitting of Parliament that will include a low-key budget and opposition efforts to rekindle the political fire over the Senate expenses scandal. The Conservatives are expected use the coming weeks to highlight their economic prowess ahead of the federal budget. But the Opposition parties will keep pushing for answers from Harper about the ongoing Senate expense scandal.
10:15am- Peter Van Loan, Government House Leader and MP for York-Simcoe, Re: Welcomed the return of Parliament and set out the Government’s priorities in the House of Commons in 2014.
10:30am- Eric Alper, Director of Media Relations at eOne Music Canada, Re: Pete Seeger, who introduced generations of Americans to their folk music heritage, died last night at the age of 94. Alper has a personal connection to Seeger, having been his publicist in Canada for more than 15 years.
