12:45am- Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, Director of the Equality Program at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, Re: Smith’s experience in the corrections system has raised a number of serious civil liberties issues, including questions regarding the use of solitary confinement in the modern penal systems. The CCLA took part in the inquest to address these and other key civil liberties concerns and that meaningful recommendations for change in the Canadian corrections system are made.
