It has become a Christmas tradition at Kitchener City Hall.
The 17th annual, Christkindl Market opens there at 10 o’clock this morning and runs until Sunday.
Official opening ceremonies, which include a candlelight procession, leave Victoria Park at 5:30pm.
“Because we don’t have an admission fee we can’t really know the exact number of people…we always anticipate upwards of 30,000 people over the four days.” said Astrid Braun, President of the Christkindl Market.
New for this year, Braun says they have two new donkeys, which are different breeds, adding that should be interesting for the kids to see.
Christkindl also features food and craft vendors on the main floor of city hall.
Braun says there are also close to 30 choirs and other entertainers lined up to entertain the crowds this year.
