Heins in for big payout from BlackBerry

Thorsten Heins could leave BlackBerry with millions.

A report in The Globe and Mail says his severance package, which includes shares in the company, could range between $16 and $22 million.

Heins signed a new employment agreement in April.

He could have walked away with over $55 million had BlackBerry been sold and if he was dismissed.

On Monday, Fairfax Financial and other investors announced they would be pumping $1 billion into BlackBerry. It was also announced that Heins would be leaving the company.
