A windy Friday in store

To say it is a blustery day would be an understatement.

Wind warnings are up for a good portion of southern Ontario and rain, heavy at times, is making for a messy morning.

The Grand River Conservation Authority says all that rain we received yesterday and then today has resulted in high river flows and the potential for flooding in some low lying areas.

It says levels and flows are increasing on the Grand River and its tributaries and high flows along the Conestogo River have forced the closure of the Low Level Bridge upstream of St. Jacobs.

At this point, the GRCA does not expect any significant flooding in communities within the watershed, although it does say there could be some flooding along the Lake Erie shoreline.

If you are planning to hit the water this weekend to fish, canoe or kayak, the GRCA cautions you be aware of the conditions and plan accordingly.
