Busy week ahead for Rangers, starts with Storm tonight

The Kitchener Rangers will play three games over the next four days.
First up, a couple of divisional games. The Guelph Storm (9-3-0-0) visit the Aud tonight before the Rangers take a trip down the 401 to play the London Knights (7-3-1-0) on Thursday night. The team will be back at the Aud Friday night with the Windsor Spitfires (5-6-0-0) in town. The Spits and the Rangers agreed to a trade last Friday which saw Spitfires goaltender and Markham native Jordan DeKort, Windsor’s second round pick in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection, come to Kitchener in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2015.
The Rangers are coming off a 6-2 loss at the hands of the Kingston Frontenacs at the Aud last Friday. Head coach Troy Smith said at practice last Thursday that the Frontenacs can score a lot of goals in a short period of time. Kingston scored three goals on 16 shots in the second period.
“That was the case tonight. We talked about it before the game. The message after is that it’s a a good lesson”, said Smith in an interview after the game with Mike Farwell.
One highlight in the loss was the two goals by Rangers rookie forward Nick Magyar. “You’re always wondering when you’re going to pop in the first one but it felt good to get two tonight and hopefully they keep coming”, said Magyar after the game.
