Just another week of ups and downs in the life of a young hockey player.
Former Kitchener Ranger Ryan Murphy is back with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The NHL club assigned Murphy to the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers on Monday, only to recall him to the big club Tuesday afternoon.
The move was made to keep Carolina under the salary cap.
The Hurricanes open the season on Friday against Detroit.
That’s the same night the Kitchener Rangers are back in action, at home to the Sarnia Sting.
