Car Thefts Increase in Guelph

Guelph Police are reporting nearly 300 car thefts to date this year – that works out to 35-40 thefts per month.
Officers are asking residents to simply lock their cars and keep valuables out of plain sight to avoid this crime and most importantly – report any incidents that happen.
Recently, police found 3 stolen GPS units – all of which had not been reported.
In 2011 Guelph reported 561 thefts from cars – that number grew to nearly 650 in 2012.
