Waterloo Regional Police, in consultation with Catherine Todd’s family, have decided to called off the search for 48 year-old Cathrine Todd’s body.
She had been missing since March 26, 2013.
A search began early in the investigation when police became aware of information that a love seat from Todd’s apartment along with clues to the location of her were disposed at a regional landfill site on Erb Street in Waterloo.
Inspector Kevin Thaler with Waterloo Regional Police tells 570 news there is disappointment nothing was found but “it was a valiant effort…it’s not a pleasant task to search a landfill but everyone was committed to this, there was no complaints.”
Inspector Thaler adds that “given the massive size of the landfill there [were] some variables beyond our control” but they will continue to search for Catherine Todd.
