4:07- A late start to spring could have a big impact on the local farming industry.They are hoping the weather will stay cool throughout the rest of March to avoid the devastating losses they suffered last year. An unseasonably warm March helped tree fruits to start budding early. And most of the crop was destroyed after a terrible April frost.

And most of the crop was destroyed after a terrible April frost. Last year apples cherries and peaches were the hardest hit. Farmers only produced about 4 per cent of their normal yield and some didn’t have anything to show for their efforts.
