3:00- Dr. Lois Shepherd, Hematologist and professor at Queen’s University, Re: Some companies are now paying you to donate blood and plasma. Do you agree? Should it continue to be volunteer-based? Dr. Shepherd says the move away from volunteer donations previously embraced in Canada is a bad thing. Shepherd noted that Canadian hospitals are top users worldwide of drug products derived from plasma and demand is constantly increasing. She says it’s hard to watch the voluntary system be “nibbled away.”
3:30- Tim Hudak, Ontario P-C Leader, Re: Delivers a keynote address regarding rural Ontario today and will touch on other issues at Queen’s Park. How can the government turn around Ontario’s economy? Will strengthening rural Ontario help?
