Crash landing at local airport

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating following a crash landing at the Region of Waterloo International Airport on Monday afternoon.

The nose landing gear of a small Cessna plane was stuck in the upright position despite the pilots attempts to shake it loose.

Airport Manager Chris Wood tells 570 News the pilot gave airport staff lots of notice, and emergency crews and equipment, including four fire trucks, were at the ready and waiting on the runway.

No one was injured but the plane suffered severe damage.
