House explodes near Mount Forest

A house explosion and fire near Mount Forest has sent two people to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

It happened shortly after four yesterday afternoon, on Sideroad 2, west of Highway 6.

The Guelph Mercury reports the injured include a 70-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause, and damage is estimated at around $300,000.
