It’s down to a best of one between the Kitchener Rangers and Plymouth Whalers.
Those two teams play game seven tonight in Michigan.
570 News has the pre-game show at 6:30.
The Rangers also have at least two fan buses heading to tonight’s game.
The winner faces the London Knights in the OHL’s Western Conference Final.
Kitchener forced the game with a 4-2 victory at the Aud on Sunday night. They also get forward Tyler Randell back for this one as he’s done serving his ten game suspension for a hit in their first round series with Owen Sound.
Randell says he’s in better shape than he was when he started serving the suspension.
Kitchener is 6 and 5 in game seven’s since the format was first introduced back in 1986, but they dropped game seven at home to the Whalers 4-2 last season .
Play-by-play voice of the Whalers Pete Krupsky tells 570 News it’s been a hard fought 6 games between the clubs, but in the end he sees the Whalers depth helping them pull out the win. He cites the fact that Plymouth will roll 3 lines and 6 defensemen will overcome the Rangers using a shortened bench like they did in game 6.
In 2003, The Rangers beat Plymouth in seven games in the West Final.
From there, Kitchener went on to win the OHL Championship and Memorial Cup.
