The winter that wasn’t

It has felt like spring for several days now, but now it is official.

Winter officially ended early this morning with a least a few more days of temperatures well above normal in the forecast.

570 News weather specialist John Wilson says historic seasonal data is spotty, but he is willing to bet this is was warmest winter on record for Waterloo Region.

He says 1945 came close, but this past one was even warmer.

Daytime highs were six degrees above normal and overnight lows were close to that much above normal.

As well, we only received half as much snow as normal and only two-thirds the amount of rain in an average winter.
