9:00 London Riots In London Ontario on the weekend, a drunk crowd of about 1,000 people spent much of Saturday night contributing to a large street fire and attacking police officers and fire fighters who tried to stop it. It started when a rowdy bunch turned over a CTV news van and set it on fire then people in the crowd continued to fuel the fire with bottles of booze, fences and trees were ripped from neighbourhood homes and anything else including a 60 inch TV, mattresses and furniture. Several homes in the area were vandalized with graffiti. Social media (facebook/twitter) now is being used to apprehend anyone involved with these crimes. Sound familiar? A lot like Vancouver and the Stanley cup riots! Here at home in Waterloo there were a number of fines but nothing destructive and the city cleared up the streets by 10am this morning. Same situation in Guelph…so what happened in London? Can you explain this behaviour?
