Grand River Hospital in Kitchener has declared a gastro-intestinal outbreak on part of the 7th floor.
It’s in the hemodialysis unit which is located in the B Wing.
GRH officials says seven patients and five staff members have had symptoms consistent with a stomach virus, including nausea and diarrhea.
Staff have taken several preventative steps including increased cleaning and disinfection.
They are also discouraging visits to that unit unless in exceptional circumstances.
