Stiff sentences handed to 3 members of alleged criminal group

Jail sentences have been given to three more members of the alleged criminal group Luminati Brotherhood Club.
The three were among those charged in Project Grand Slam more than a year ago. It was an undercover police drug operation that saw raids conducted in several communities including Kitchener, Cambridge, and Wellesley, North Dumfries and Puslinch townships.
CTV reports the alleged leader of the group received the harshest sentence.
28-year-old Denton Emonts was handed a sentence of 11 years less 17 months credit for pre-trial custody.
Pavel Kanfer received the equivalent of three-and-a-half years behind bars, while Nicola Dancetovic was sentenced to two-and-a-half years.
Another man is to be sentenced later this month while cases involving two other suspects are still making their way through the courts.
