Fire victims identified

OPP have identified 69-year-old Dr. Ronald Gingrich and his 68-year-old wife Lois as the victims of Monday’s house fire near Plattsville.

Police say the fire appears to be an isolated incident with the cause still under investigation.

Oxford County OPP say the fire broke out on Monday morning around 10:30 and had fully engulfed the home by the time fire crews arrived.

Police are requesting the family’s privacy be respected as they deal with their loss.

Dr. Gingrich worked at the Grandview Medical Centre on Hespeler Road in Cambridge until June of 2009 when he retired.
