This years CHYM Tree of Hope campaign raised over 383-thousand dollars in one day!
The event got underway yesterday morning at 5am with George and Tara from our sister station CHYM 96.7, and went until 7 in the evening and finished off with CHYM’S Adele.
The event took place at Fairview Park Mall, and the Executive Director of Family and Children Services of Waterloo Region, Allison Scott, told Adele, that the success is all thanks to the community.
“Most of all we couldn’t do this without the community, the community has been absolutely fabulous, I don’t know how you keep do this for us every year, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Scott adds that it’s all for the Families and Children.
“I just want to say a special thank you to the families and children that we served that were so great to share their stories with us. People are so brave I think to be able to share if they think it can help other people.”
A generous family matched all call in donations 3 to 1, which no doubt helped the campaign raise over 383-thousand dollars
