RIM taking a bold new step

Research in Motion will reportedly announce a bold new step today that would actually allow it to work with its chief rivals.
This morning’s Globe and Mail reports RIM will announce an upgrade to its BlackBerry Enterprise Server – considered the world’s most secure already.
Here’s the twist: it would accommodate Apple’s iPhones and iPads and devices running Google Inc.’s Android mobile operating system.
The report suggests the plus for RIM would be it would keep customers reliant on their secure servers even if they move to devices outside of the BlackBerry family.
