Think Pink at U-W

The varsity teams at the University of Waterloo want their fans “Thinking Pink” this weekend.

Over the past three years, The Warriors have raised over $35,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Ontario Chapter).

The 2011 goal is $20,000, with the women’s basketball team hoping to raise half of that.

Laura Bossers, a guard on the Warriors women’s basketball team says she and her teammates have already raised close to $6,000.

Bossers and seven of her teammates will be cutting their hair off following their game against Queen’s on Saturday.

That hair will go to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program, which will be used to make wigs for cancer patients.

Other events planned for this weekend include a campus recreation soccer tournament and spin-a-thon.
