570 News has confirmed Niagara Ice Dogs forward Tom Kuhnhackl has been suspended 20 games by the Ontario Hockey League for his hit on Kitchener Rangers defenceman Ryan Murphy.
It happened in Friday night’s game.
No word yet on how long Murphy will be out of the Rangers line-up.
The OHL says contact was made with Murphy’s head and the hit was on a vulnerable and unsuspecting player.
Don Cameron is the voice of the Kitchener Rangers on 570 News and feels the punishment does fit the crime.
He tells 570’s Gary Doyle Show when OHL Commissioner David Branch hits the gavel on the desk you better be prepared to do what you shouldn’t have done.
Kuhnhackl is not eligible to return until January 6th.
The left winger was just picked up in a trade with the Windsor Spitfires last week.
