Occupy the region

An Occupy Waterloo Region march and rally are planned this afternoon for Uptown Waterloo.
The organization describes it as a “demonstration in solidarity with the global Occupy movement.”
On its Facebook page it says, “Everyone is invited to this annual event that brings together people and ideas for a day of information and planning in regards to understanding our current Monetary system and formatting actions towards the development of a Peaceful Monetary System.”
The day kicks off with a rally at Waterloo’s public square from 1 until 2 p.m.
That will be followed by a march to the First United Church where protesters will meet from 2 until 4 p.m.
