A section of Highway 8 was closed this morning, after a fatal crash around 6:30.
OPP say the crash happened closer to Hamilton, in the area of Flambrough Township.
Not many details are known as to why a 55 year old man from Concord left his vehicle this morning – he was walking when he was struck by a vehicle heading south.
The man was rushed to hospital in Hamilton where he died.
Sergeant Dave Woodford says they’re still in the early part of their investigation, “we don’t know why he was out of his vehicle, why he was over in that area, what he was doing over in that area, that’s all an ongoing part of the investigation.”
Woodford reminds people that leaving your car, especially when it’s dark is dangerous, “you’re out on the road, there are no lights…make sure you have some kind of reflective clothing or light clothing on. Makes it very hard, that time of morning, especially we were seeing rain and over cast as well, very dark…you want to be visible to drivers.”
No word if charges will be laid.
