416 ridings still a sea of red

Toronto remains a sea of Liberal red, with high-profile candidates among those returning to Queen’s Park.

Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne was re-elected in Don Valley West.

She said she worked as hard on this campaign as in others.

“I know I have to knock on doors,” she said. “We spoke to 25,000 people in this campaign.”

Other Liberal incumbents returning include Brad Duguid, Donna Cansfield, Margarett Best and Monte Kwinter.

In Trinity-Spadina, it was a close race between PC Sarah Thomson and longtime MPP Rosario Marchese with Thomson leading for a while. Marchese ended up winning the seat.
