Climbing for a cause

In 2010, 28 executives took part in the CN Tower Climb – Presidential Challenge and raised close to $123,000 for United Way Toronto.
This year’s climb will include a successful President from this neck of the woods as Virginia Poly – President of Poly Placements Recruiting – is ready to go. Poly tells 570 News donations of any amount are welcome – whether it’s 5 or 50 dollars.
“It means a lot when it’s combined with everyone else’s”
The easiest way to do so according to Poly is by going to the website www.sponsorvirginia.com and pledging your support. Poly feels like she has a pretty ambitious goal, but adds “…if anyone is willing to help out – the support is really truly appreciated.”
As for training, Poly had to look beyond the office stairwell – mostly because she’s only on the 2nd floor. Not a problem. She assures 570 News that she is up to the task and is now including walking and running to help her prepare to climb a structure that is almost 2,000 feet tall.
“I looked at the CN Tower the other weekend and I think it’s a lot taller than I thought it was when I signed up for this – so I have a long way to go for sure….”

Virginia’s goal is just over $7,000 and at last check she was a little over 20% of the way there.
