British Columbians getting Order of Canada

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – Eight British Columbians will be receiving the Order of Canada tomorrow.
The Honourable Patricia Carney of Saturna Island gets the honour for her work as a journalist, politician, and senator. Mechanical engineer David Halliday of Maple Ridge is being recognized for his innovative thinking and involvement with the Canadian Coalition for Astronomy.
Robert Hare of Surrey gets the award for his research involving forensic psychology. VANOC CEO John Furlong will be recognized for demonstrating sporting excellence to the world.
Rudy North of Vancouver will be honoured for his work in protecting of BC’s natural environment. Angela Enright will also get the award for her devotion to advancing safe anesthesia practices.
