The 32nd annual Moparfest

For the 32nd year running, Moparfest is taking over New Hamburg today and tomorrow.

About 1,600 classic Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles from all over the continent will be on display at the New Hamburg Fairgrounds on Jacob Street.

Moparfest Promotions Coordinator Don Wagner tells 570 News features show cars, a cruise run, a 50/50 draw and an engine-blow contest, “these are where you just start your vehicle and throw a brick on the pedal and time it until that engine dies or blows up or seizes.”

All money raised in this contest goes to the Sunshine Foundation, Wagner adds, “we typically raise $3,000”.

The total fundraising goal in $160, 000, in support of 14 different charities.

Over 20,000 people are anticipated to attend Moparfest. While it’s going on and all these extra people are in the area, most of the town throws yard sales, “they’ll put things out at the end of the lane and they’ll try and sell those things and if they’re automotive related for sure the guys will pull over and if it’s not then the guys want to drive by”, Wagner said.

Additionally, more than 240 vendors are expected.
