Names of crash victims released

Waterloo Regional Police have released the names of two people killed in a crash near Elmira yesterday morning.

Police say 82-year-old Mary Poschner and 76-year-old Maria Rauh, both of Waterloo, died after the car they were in collided with a tractor trailer at Line 86 and Floradale Road.

A passenger – a 73-year-old Kitchener woman – is in hospital with major injuries.

Police do not expect to lay charges, saying the investigation suggests the driver of the car failed to yield to the truck.
