Heat wave continues

A sizzling heat wave continues in various regions of the country, and in southern Ontario and Quebec, it’s going to get worse before improving.

Here in Waterloo Region, 570 News Weather Specialist John Wilson expects at high of 33 with a humidex of 40.

It was a scorcher on the Prairies yesterday, with yesterday’s high in Winnipeg hitting a record-tying 34 Celsius, with a humidex of 43. Many people heeded calls to curb outside activity, including museum workers who cancelled a fossil dig in Morden, Manitoba.

The heat wave is coming from the U-S, where 17 states have issued heat watches. For 29 straight days, the daily high in Oklahoma has been at least 38.
