The former owner of the once popular Knotty Pine restaurant in Preston has died. John Jacques passed away last Thursday at the age of 88 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A combination of good food and friendly service is what John and his wife June offered at the Knotty Pine restaurant to keep the location in business for 60 years.
His son Jim tells The Record, John was a good family man who had time for his three boys despite the 60 hours a week he and his wife spent at the Knotty Pine locations in Waterloo and Cambridge.
The Waterloo location closed in 1992, while the Cambridge location was open until the year 2000.
Family and friends will celebrate Jack’s life tomorrow at the Riverwalk building on George Street in Cambridge from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
