The revitalization of landmark industrial buildings in Kitchener continues, with redevelopment of the century-old Breithaupt Block underway.
The 35-million dollar project will convert half a dozen industrial buildings on the block into office space, designed to attract high-tech tenants, the first of whom are expected to set up shop by the end of the year.
Six industrial buildings on the block will house 175-thousand square feet of office space.
Toronto-based developer Craig Beattie, of Perimeter Development Corporation, tells 570 News that while the main building facing King Street will be extensively modernized, the other buildings on the block will be preserved, with original brick and exterior features being maintained.
