Former mayor injured in crash

Two people were taken to hospital after a serious crash in Cambridge yesterday morning.

Regional Councillor and former Cambridge Mayor Jane Brewer was one of the people hurt, on her way to a Regional Committee meeting.

Regional Chair Ken Seiling told 570 News that he was aware that Brewer was involved in the accident – but still didn’t know what was happening with her at hospital. Seiling added he hopes Brewer will make a quick recovery and get back to council.

The crash happened just before 9 o’clock in the morning on Cherry Blossom Road.

Police say both people who were hurt have non-life threatening injuries.

They also say they’re looking into the possibility that a medical episode may have played a role in the crash.
