WRPS officer charged

A Waterloo Regional Police officer has been charged with Voyeurism and Breach of Trust by a public officer.
Police allege that Constable Christopher Knox photographed a person without their knowledge. He’s been suspended from duty.
Knox was arrested on April 19th and released on a Promise to Appear. He’s scheduled to be in court on June 1st.
In a release, Waterloo Regional Police Chief Matt Torigian said, “Our organization prides itself in remaining open and accountable to the residents of Waterloo Region. The alleged action of the officer does not meet the values of our Service or what is expected of us by our community.”
The Professional Standards Branch is also investigating the officer’s conduct.
