OPP remind drivers to move over

OPP are reminding drivers to move over into the next lane if there is an emergency vehicle on the shoulder of the highway.

Those who don’t abide by the “Mover Over” law could face a fine of $490 and three demerit points.

The reminder comes after an OPP cruiser was hit on the Eastbound 401 last night, just East of Homer Watson.

The officer was dealing with a crash on the left shoulder. Constable Ken Upton says the oncoming motorist did try and move into the next lane, however, lost control due to slippery conditions and struck the cruiser.
