Akeson signs with Flyers

Kitchener Rangers Assistant Captain Jason Akeson will get a shot at cracking an NHL roster.

The 20-year-old signed an entry level deal with the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

The deal starts next season.

Akeson was never drafted by an NHL team.

He currently leads the OHL in scoring with 103 points.
