Weston to buy Colonial

A court has given the go ahead for Weston Foods to purchase the assets of the now bankrupt Colonial Cookies in Kitchener.
A spokesperson for the court-appointed receiver, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, tells 570 News they’re speaking with Weston today about how they want to move forward.
They say the deal is expected to close in the next couple of weeks.
There’s no word yet on what the deal will mean for employees of Colonial’s Kitchener plant.
