Car seat warning

Transport Canada is warning parents about defective car seats that could lead to loosening of restraints.
A repair kit is available for some models made by Cosco, Eddie Bauer, Safety 1st, Maxi-Cosi, and Schwinn.
Over 135,000 units were produced between May 1st, 2008 and April 30th, 2009 inclusively are affected in Canada.
A total of 10 complaints have been filed but no kids have been hurt.
The problem is the front adjuster mechanism may not actually allow any adjustment to lock in place, which can result in potential loosening of the harness.
Consumers are asked not to return the product to any retail stores. Instead those who have completed and returned their registration card will get a notice by mail.
Parents are also encouraged to visit the Dorel Juvenile Group’s website to check if their model is part of the notice.
