The Canadian Armed Forces have said thank to the Waterloo Wolves AAA hockey team.
The Wolves are involved in the “Hero to Hero” program, which hooks up sports teams with our men and women serving overseas. The team has been presented with the mission flag from troops serving in Afghanistan, as well as a plaque.
The flag was actually flown through the skies of Afghanistan in a Canadian Chinook Helicopter executing air assault operations supporting coalition forces in Operation Athena. The flag was signed by members of the mission.
A special “Hero to Hero” ceremony with the Wolves will take place on January 30th.
