It’s the time of year for the CHYM-FM Tree of Hope.
Since the event started 18 years ago, the radiothon held by the sister station of 570 News has raised over 3 million dollars for Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region.
Among other things, the money goes toward the adopt-a-youth program, family holiday program and the monthly giving club which helps children in need throughout the year.
Starting today and running through to tomorrow, CHYM-FM will be broadcasting live from Fairview Park Mall from 5 am through to 7pm.
The event is full of events: cookie decorating, carolers, gingerbread houses, crafts and live music, including Ash Koley performing at 5pm on Friday.
At the Cambridge Centre, there are opportunities to donate through gift wrapping and other events.
This year, the Tree of Hope’s goal is to raise $275,000.
