According to our latest www.570news.com Insider Survey, it’s half-and-half with our listeners when it comes to taking a winter vacation.
51 per cent of respondents say no they will not vacation, 49 per cent say they will.
Of those who say they will, almost one-third will vacation within snowy Canada; one-quarter will head to the United States; about 10 per cent will say “ola!” to Cuba.
Overall, a whopping 87 per cent say they prefer warm locales to visit.
30 per cent of respondents say they put their vacations on a credit card, the rest budget and save for them before they go.
One-third of respondents say they’ll spend between $500 and $1,000; another third will spend more than $1,000.
And for the rest, it’s a split between thrift and splurge: some will stay under $500, some will go over $2,000.
Half of our survey respondents will vacation for one week; a quarter will take less time away, a quarter will take more time.
And one-third of them will vacation in February; January and March tied for second favourite month to travel; December was third; November was a distant fourth with only 4 per cent of respondents preferring to travel then.
Over 80 per cent say they will travel with friends; about 15 per cent will go with friends; only 5 per cent will get away on a solo trip.
